The Challenge
Our client, a global leader in the petrochemical industry, faced a significant challenge: their regular supplier failed to deliver the necessary floor bricks for their Electric Arc Furnace (EAF). This unexpected shortage threatened to halt their operations, potentially leading to substantial production losses.
Urgent Client Request
The client urgently needed refractory products that met specific standards and could be delivered in the shortest possible time. The lead time from their original equipment manufacturer (OEM) in China was over 6 weeks, which was not viable for their immediate operational needs.
Our Solution
Rongsheng Refractory quickly mobilized to address the client's urgent requirements. Our expert team provided a new refractory solution for the radial floor design and proposed using an alternative high-quality brick that could be produced with available molds and raw materials. This innovative approach ensured compatibility with the client's process conditions while meeting their stringent specifications.
To ensure a perfect fit, we produced the rest of the walls and floor bricks to precise measurements, adhering to very narrow tolerances to minimize grinding. Despite the tight deadline, we manufactured and supplied the required quality of bricks, including the necessary mold parts, within the critical 6-week timeframe.
Successful Implementation
The redesigned refractory brick was installed seamlessly, fitting together as designed without any issues. Our rapid and efficient response enabled the furnace repair to be completed within the planned downtime, allowing the client to recommission the furnace in June 2024.
