Product Description of Fused Magnesia
Rongsheng Refractory factory offers a wide variety of high quality magnesium oxide raw material. Fused Magnesia (Ordinary Grade) is manufactured through fusing high quality raw magnesite in electric arc furnace with the characteristics of big crystal, dense structure and strong corrosion resistance. As an excellent basic refractory raw material, its MgO content is between 87 – 98%. Fused magnesia has the characteristics of coarse particles and loose structure, so it has good air permeability and slag resistance. Fused magnesia is mainly used for the production of refractory materials, such as sintered bricks, foundry molds, and furnace linings.
Key Properties of Fused Magnesia
1.High Melting Point: Fused magnesia boasts an exceptionally high melting point of around 2,800°C.
2.Excellent Thermal Conductivity: Fused magnesia exhibits superior thermal conductivity, efficiently transferring heat away from hot zones, preventing localized overheating, and promoting uniform temperature distribution.
3.Chemical Resistance: Fused magnesia is highly resistant to chemical attack from various molten metals, slags, and fluxes, ensuring its stability and longevity in harsh industrial environments.
4.Abrasion Resistance: Fused magnesia demonstrates exceptional abrasion resistance, making it durable and long-lasting in applications subjected to high wear and tear.
5.Sinterability: Fused magnesia can be sintered, or bonded together, to form dense, impermeable refractory bricks and shapes, providing effective protection against corrosive and erosive agents.
Applications of Fused Magnesia
1.Steelmaking Refractories: Fused magnesia is extensively used in steelmaking furnaces, lining furnaces and ladles to prevent corrosion and erosion from molten steel and slags.
2.Cement Production Refractories: Fused magnesia plays a critical role in cement kilns, lining the rotary kilns where raw materials are transformed into cement clinker.
3.Glass Manufacturing Refractories: Fused magnesia is employed in glass furnaces, protecting the furnace walls from the corrosive action of molten glass.
4.Non-Ferrous Metallurgy Refractories: Fused magnesia finds applications in non-ferrous metal refining furnaces, providing a refractory lining to withstand the high temperatures and aggressive chemical environments.
5.Incineration and Waste Treatment Refractories: Fused magnesia is used in incinerators and waste treatment facilities to line furnaces and reactors, ensuring the integrity of the equipment under high-temperature and corrosive conditions.
